Meet the author behind The Next Page Speech Therapy

SLP for The Next Page Speech Therapy in Jacksonville, Florida

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering if you’ve found the right person to support your child—and that’s a big decision. I want you to know that working with children and families isn’t just my job; it’s what I’ve loved doing for as long as I can remember.

Parents, you’ve landed in the right place. My name is Paige Farinella, and my journey into pediatrics started long before graduate school. As a babysitter and later as a daycare aide and teacher, I quickly realized how much I loved connecting with children, learning their personalities, and supporting their growth. By the time I went to college, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Florida State University, and while completing my master’s program, I worked in the school setting, gaining valuable hands-on experience with a wide range of students.

I bring over 13 years of experience working as a speech-language pathologist and evaluator in the Duval and Clay County school systems, including four years with DCPS’ Parentally Placed Private School Services. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with diverse communication profiles and partnering closely with families and educators.

  • Through earning four Continuing Education (ACE) Awards from ASHA, I’ve pursued advanced training in:

    Articulation and phonological impairments

    Fluency disorders

    Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

    Early intervention

    Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processing)

    Sensory-based feeding disorders

    Assistive technology and AAC

  • My clinical approach is informed by DIR®/Floortime™, SOS feeding principles, TalkTools initiatives, Natural Language Acquistion, and Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing, all of which are grounded in current, evidence-based practices. At the heart of my work is a deep passion for pediatrics and a strong belief in child-led, play-based therapy. I always presume competence and believe that all forms of communication are valid. I embrace multimodal communication such as spoken language, AAC, gestures, signs, and more to support meaningful and efficient progress. I prioritize connection over compliance, taking the time to build genuine rapport so your child feels safe, respected, and motivated during therapy.

As a neurodivergent-affirming practitioner, I am committed to celebrating individuality and honoring each child’s unique way of communicating and engaging with the world. I specialize in designing individualized therapy plans tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and goals. My approach is warm, supportive, and client-centered, fostering an environment where trust, growth, and connection can truly flourish.

  • I value meaningful partnerships with families, siblings, caregivers, and other service providers. By equipping you with tools, strategies, and knowledge, my goal is to support success that extends well beyond our therapy sessions. My mission is not only to provide high-quality speech and language therapy, but also to build authentic relationships and support progress that makes a real difference in everyday life.

  • I am a proud Jacksonville native, only leaving to live in Tallahassee while pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Family and Child Sciences from FSU. I earned my Master’s degree online through FSU’s Distance Learning program while working full-time with DCPS. Outside of work, I’m married and a mom of two boys who always keep me on my toes. When I’m not in therapy sessions, you’ll find me creating memories with my family, whether that’s enjoying time together at home or out exploring Jacksonville and the surrounding areas.
