What is Speech Therapy?
While it’s common for young children to make mistakes as they learn to talk, sometimes speech sound errors continue beyond what’s expected.
An articulation disorder occurs when a child has difficulty physically producing specific speech sounds.
A phonological disorder is not an issue with how sounds are made; instead, the area of difficulty is how sounds are organized and used within words.
A comprehensive speech evaluation helps determine the type of speech sound difference present and guides the most effective therapy approach for your child.
What is Language Therapy?
Language therapy supports children who have difficulty understanding language, using words and sentences, or expressing their thoughts, needs, and ideas.
Children with language impairments may struggle to:
follow directions
answer questions
understand what others are saying
have difficulty finding the right words to use
putting sentences together
telling stories
using language to connect with peers
At The Next Page Speech Therapy, language therapy is play-based, child-led, and individualized. Sessions are designed around your child’s interests to keep learning engaging and effective.
What is Fluency Therapy?
Fluency therapy supports children who have difficulty speaking smoothly. This may include repeating sounds or words, stretching sounds out, or experiencing blocks where speech seems “stuck.” Some children may also show signs of tension, frustration, or avoidance when speaking.
While some children go through periods of disfluent speech as they develop language. Fluency therapy is recommended when speech disruptions persist, increase over time, or begin to impact a child’s confidence, participation, or willingness to communicate.
Depending on your child’s needs, therapy may include strategies to support easier speech, reduce tension, and help children feel more comfortable expressing and advocating for themselves.
What is Feeding Therapy?
Feeding therapy supports children who have difficulty eating a variety of foods due to sensory challenges.
Sensory-based feeding therapy focuses on building comfort, trust, and positive experiences with food at your child’s pace. I work on increasing tolerance and curiosity through play, exploration, and gradual exposure to foods in a way that feels safe and manageable.
My goal is to help children develop a healthier, more positive relationship with food; one that supports nourishment, comfort, and family connection.
All of my sessions are designed to feel natural, engaging, and meaningful.
For younger children, goals are thoughtfully woven into child-led, play-based activities, allowing learning to happen through connection, curiosity, and shared joy. These everyday interactions make it easier for families to use the same strategies between sessions.
For older children, therapy includes more structured options, with choices built in. Children are invited to select activities that feel motivating and relevant while still targeting their individual goals. This balance helps build independence, confidence, and buy-in.
Across all services, I presume competence and treat every child as a capable communicator. All forms of communication are respected and valued, and therapy is tailored to meet each child where they are.
What Does Therapy Look Like?
Neuro-diversity Affirming
I honor each child’s unique way of thinking, learning, and communicating. I focus on strengths, autonomy, and meaningful connection rather than compliance.
A Focus on Quality, Not Quantity
I prioritize the quality of each session, focusing on meaningful, individualized therapy that supports real progress and carryover into everyday life.
Integrative and Holistic
My therapy is designed to address the whole child, integrating communication, sensory, social-emotional, and functional needs to support meaningful, lasting progress.
Communication is the foundation of how we learn, connect, and navigate the world. Investing in your child’s ability to communicate creates ripple effects that extend far beyond therapy sessions.
